Conspiracy to unsettle South?

The possibility of a handful of LTTE cadres on the run creating trouble in the South with the help of the underworld and some hirelings known as Sinhala Tigers couldn’t be ruled out, according to government sources.

With the two persons killed in Katagamuwa claymore attack on Friday, the number of civilians killed in the recent incidents reached six.Investigators suspect a small group of LTTE combatants who escaped from the East has mustered the support of some Sinhalese persons to cause disturbances in the southern parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the villagers who attended a meeting with a special government delegation on Friday said that they suspected a conspiracy.
